United Arab Emirates's capital FIFA Club is ready to host its first cricket tournament on the lines of World Cup.

Abu Dhabi Cricket (ADC) launched the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy on Wednesday, which was entering the Zaid Cricket Stadium on Thursday, as part of its ambitious bid to make Emirates the center of sports.

The ADC started this project with a platform for international and club competitions organized by cricket boards outside the country - a case in the annual Pakistan Super League point. After being there and doing this, however, it was time to keep its tournament.

ADC executive chief executive Matt Boucher said, "We wanted to follow something on the lines of the FIFA Club World Cup, where international teams are invited to Abu Dhabi," referring to the annual football competition, each of which Embraces the best club teams, with six continents as well as the winners of the host nation's national league, each against each other.

Boucher said that the three-day tournament is the first step in establishing ADC's own brand in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC).

Boucher said, "We know what we are doing." It is now time to proceed with the hosting of programs run by the Pakistan Cricket Board or the Board of the Indian Cricket Board. "

In the inaugural session, six franchises from six countries will be involved in two groups of three, in which the round-robin game will reach the final between the top two parties on Saturday.

Boucher said, "When we are hosting events of PCB or BCCI, marketing and promotion is not ours. We are paid the budget to run that event on their behalf."

"This is the first time we are running cricket tournaments."

Abu Dhabi has joined the ADSC calendar packed with 120 programs, including the T20 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, UAE Tour, ITU World Triathlon and Club World Cup.

But in spite of prior experience, Boucher acknowledged that this would be a learning process.

He said, "We are going to get feedback from the captains of all the teams." This is an opportunity for us to live in the center of world cricket. "

ADSC's Secretary-General, Aref Al Awani said that the tournament is a symbol of the beginning of a new era. Al Awani said, "We are fulfilling our promise of an exciting new era of cricket in the Emirates."

"Cricket fans can expect three days of exciting, high-level action in what we expect."

Indeed, fans will be treated with quality action that includes champions of their respective national leagues, including Boost Defender (Afghanistan), Hobart Hurricane (Australia), Yorkshire Vikings (England), Lahore Kamalendar (Pakistan), Auckland Aces and competition. (New Zealand) and Multiply Titans (South Africa).

Titans are packed with Proteas International, which includes Captain Albie Morkel, who returned to the Emirates played in the Indian Premier League four years ago.
